Questions We’re Asked Most

Yes, in many cases, you can. If the existing Artex is sound, we can often skim over it to create a smooth, modern finish without the need for a full replacement. We'll always assess the ceiling first and recommend the most suitable approach.

Traditional sand and cement render is a tried-and-tested finish that's ideal for many properties. Silicone render systems offer added flexibility, weather resistance and low maintenance, making them a popular choice for modern homes and external wall insulation systems. We'll explain the benefits of each and recommend what's right for your property.

Fresh plaster usually dries within 3–7 days, depending on the thickness, ventilation and weather conditions.
New plaster should be completely dry before painting. We generally recommend applying a mist coat first, followed by your chosen finish once the surface is fully cured. We'll advise you when it's ready for decorating and share the best way to achieve a lasting finish.

Yes. We have experience working with traditional lime plaster and understand the importance of using appropriate materials and techniques on older buildings. Where needed, we'll recommend lime-based systems that allow the property to perform as intended.

Not always. Lime plaster is typically recommended for older or solid-wall properties because it allows moisture to move naturally through the building. Modern gypsum plaster isn't suitable for every property, so we'll always recommend the material that's right for your home.

We know inviting tradespeople into your home requires trust. Before work begins, we'll take the time to protect surrounding floors and surfaces, keep disruption to a minimum and leave the site clean and tidy at the end of each day. We believe looking after your property is just as important as achieving a great finish.
